WHAT WE BELIEVE
WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT GOD
We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons, Father ,Son and Holy Spirit. (John 1:1-5,29-34; Hebrews 1:1-3)
We believe God is the creator of all things, infinitely perfect in all ways. (Genesis 1:1-2,26; Psalm 145:17)
WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT JESUS
We believe that Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man, the one and only Son of God. (John 1:1-5,29-34; Hebrews 1:1-3)
We believe Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. (Luke 1:26-38; Luke 2:1-7)
We believe he died on a cross for our sins and he bodily arose from the dead. (Matthew 27:32—28:10; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Romans 3:21-26)
We believe he ascended into heaven, where He sits at God the Father’s right hand, from which He shall return,
personally and visibly, in power and glory. (1Thessalonians 4:13-17; Revelation 22:12-13)
WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict and renew the believing sinner. (John 16:5-11; John 3:5-8)
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells, guides, instructs, and empowers the believer for godly living and service.
(Romans 8:6-11, 26-27; Galatians 5:16-25)
WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible (both Old and New Testaments) is the inspired word of God—a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:105)
We believe the Bible to be the divine and final authority for all matters of Christian faith and practice. (2 Peter 1:16-21; John 12:47-50; Galatians 1:8; Romans 1:16)
WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT PEOPLE
We believe that every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Genesis 2; Romans 3:23)
We believe that apart from Jesus Christ, all people are destined for eternal punishment in hell. (John 3:18; Matthew 25:46)
We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity.
Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture or the practices of F.C.C.
(Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31)
WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT GOD'S OFFER OF SALVATION
We believe that forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are freely given by God to those who trust Christ as their Savior and Lord. (Acts 2:38-34; John 3:16)
We believe every person can be saved by Grace through faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:24; Titus 2:11; Titus 3:7)
We believe those who accept the offer of Grace through faith in Jesus should repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized. (Rom. 6:1-14; Rom. 10:9; Gal. 3:26-27;
Acts 2:38)
WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE CHURCH
We believe the Church, the body and bride of Christ, was founded on the day of Pentecost and consists of all Christians worldwide. (Acts 2; Matthew 28:19)
We believe that God desires his Church to be one. Our aim therefore is “In essentials, unity; in nonessentials, liberty; in all things, love.” (Ephesians 4:1-6)
We believe that the Church is empowered by the Holy Spirit, and exists to reach out to the lost, hurting,
and marginalized with the life changing message of Jesus Christ. (2Cor. 5:20; Gal. 6:2,10; Matthew 10:42; James 2:17-18; 1Peter 2:12)
We believe that God has ordained elders to exercise servant leadership and spiritual authority over the congregation at F.C.C. (1Timothy 5:17;Titus 1:5)
We believe every follower of Christ has been given spiritual gifts to minister to others. (1Peter 2:9; Revelation 5:10)
"Faith is...
the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen...but without faith it is impossible to please God: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:1,6 KJV)

Coming Home
God has sent his church on a mission to let the world know that God wants everyone to come home to Him. Perhaps you are one who has been searching, trying to find your way back to God. If so, you are in the right place. We want you to know that God loves you very much. All of us at one time or another have walked away from God, we have rebelled against him, and sinned against him and others. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 KJV)
Becuase of Jesus death on the cross we are offered a free gift from God, the forgiveness of our sins, the transformational presence of His Holy Spirit, a place in his earthly family (the Church) and an eternal home with God forever in heaven. Contact us today if you would like to know more about coming home to your heavenly Father. Or join us this weekend at First Christian Church.
